Stone Aerie

Description

Stone Aerie is a vertically cottonwood bark carving, showcasing intricate, layered textures throughout the natural grain. The carved wood features two hollowed-out, houses shapes stacked vertically with a series of small, rounded apertures within each section. The top house has a smooth, sweeping interior with a set of five diamond-shaped cutouts. Below it, the smaller house  echoes the form with additional carved details and four diamond-shaped cutouts. The overall piece has a rugged, organic edge that contrasts with the precise carvings inside. The carving is rich in warm, earthy tones, emphasizing the natural beauty and complexity of the wood’s surface.
