Gothic Bastion

Description

Gothic Bastion is a detailed cottonwood bark sculpture of a tall, narrow, Gothic-style tower. The tower features sharp, pointed arches and windows, including a large elongated diamond-shaped window above two smaller rectangular windows. The surface of the tower is textured to resemble brickwork, with an arched doorway at the base that has two visible door knobs. The sculpture has an irregular shaped aerie one side, incorporating rough, naturalistic textures . The pointed, steeply pitched roof and intricate brick patterning emphasize a medieval architectural aesthetic.
